The Location
The Manhattan Center is conveniently located in Midtown in the heart of Manhattan on West 34th Street, just minutes from Times Square. Its location makes it the perfect venue for all types of events, including smaller private events and larger trade shows.

The Space
The Manhattan Center has two event spaces: the Grand Ballroom and the Hammerstein Ballroom. The Grand Ballroom can accommodate a reception-style event for 1,200, a theater-style event for 1,200, or a seated dinner for 600. It has 15,000 square feet of space, 40-foot ceilings, and seven dressing rooms.
The Hammerstein Ballroom is perfect for larger events and can accommodate standing room for up to 3,500, a reception-style dinner for up to 1500 guests, a seated dinner for 1,000, or a theater-style for 2,000. It has 35,000 square feet of space, 10 dressing rooms, 75-foot ceilings, and two balconies with flexible seating for up to 535.
The Reputation
The Manhattan Center is a historic event venue that was built in 1906 by Oscar Hammerstein. It began as a grand opera venue that competed with the Metropolitan Opera. Its success was so widespread that the Metropolitan Opera offered Hammerstein millions to stop producing opera for a decade. He accepted, and from that point on, it became a venue for all types of entertainment.
When it was eventually purchased, additional space was added, and in 1939, it became a multipurpose venue for all types of events and has remained a staple venue in New York City and the host of iconic events year-round. Not only has the Manhattan Center been the home to large and small renowned events, but it also has a sophisticated TV, video, audio, and recording studio where both movie music and soundtrack recordings have occurred.
